John Rapacki joined Bechtel in 2018 after spending more than a decade developing a wide range of commercial and technical expertise in the marine and heavy transport industry.
A graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, John started his career as a deck officer on board merchant ships. After attaining an M.B.A. from Fordham University in New York, he relocated to Houston, TX where he worked for several industry leaders in semi-submersible ship operations, module transport and onshore heavy haul.
His first Bechtel assignment was the management of ship-to-barge transfers and inland marine transport for a petrochemical giga-project in the northeast United States. He assumed the role of Chartering Manager, Bechtel Global Logistics in 2019. He is tasked with expanding the capabilities and service offerings of BGL in support of the company’s worldwide construction activities.
