TBA Group, a leading supplier of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) within the bulk sector, have analysed terminals over a period of more than 20 years and, as a result of their observations, released a free guide for bulk terminals highlighting the core characteristics, or processes, where successful terminals differ from their less successful counterparts.

The demands on bulk terminals, to remain competitive amongst increasingly volatile markets, evolving supply chains and increased competition, requires terminals to focus on delivering cost effective, efficient solutions whilst remaining profitable. The shift in the micro and macro environment has left many terminals lagging somewhat behind, stuck in archaic practices that no longer align to demands of the sector. What may appear as an uphill struggle can of course be turned around and, through relatively simple process improvements, terminals can transform their operations, ensuring future environmental changes can be managed in such a way that the terminal remains competitive, profitable and ultimately sustainable.
